Be part of the sustainable solution. Sensil® BioCare is enhanced with a special technology that reduces the persistence of textile waste in oceans and landfills, decreasing the impact on the Earth’s ecosystems. You can keep all the performance, style, quality, and comfort of your favorite designs but enjoy them more by making a conscious choice.
Sensil®BioCare is engineered with an invisible built-in technology that helps fibers break down to prevent waste accumulation in oceans and landfills for reduced impact on the planet’s ecosystems. Tests conducted in both landfill soil and sea water simulations by independent labs showed remarkable disintegration in both environments during the tests in comparison to conventional nylon fibers that do not include the special technology.
Sensil® BioCare has been independently tested and proven to degrade at an accelerated rate. Initial testing according to ASTM D6691 Standard Test Method For Determining Aerobic Biodegradation Of Plastic Materials In The Marine Environment and ASTM D5511 Standard Test Method For Determining Anaerobic Biodegradation Of Plastic Materials Under High-Solids Anaerobic-Digestion Conditions indicates that Sensil® BioCare yarns will break down more rapidly than conventional nylon. These promising findings point to reduced waste accumulation in both oceans and landfills.
Sensil® BioCare yarns and the special additive are certified as not harmful to human health according to Oeko-Tex standards.
The exceptional products that bear the official Sensil® BioCare hang tag have been verified and tracked to ensure origin and performance.
Sensil® BioCare is manufactured under the NILIT TPS criteria resulting in a reduced carbon footprint, elimination of toxic emissions, conservation of water and energy, and zero waste.
Sensil® premium Nylon is already engineered with outstanding filament integrity and strength, resulting in high quality, soft and exceptional garments that will be among the favorites for years to come.
With its embedded technology, if any microfibers of Sensil® BioCare garments are released during washing, they will have accelerated break down compared to conventional Nylon 6.6 fibers if they end up in the oceans.
After being used, repurposed, recycled or donated, when these garments finally reach the end of their long lives, Sensil® BioCare’s unique mechanism helps decrease the environmental consequences by deteriorating more quickly than conventional synthetic fibers.
When disposed in landfills, Sensil® BioCare fibers will degrade at an accelerated rate, reducing the persistence of textile waste in the planet’s ecosystems.
