LA activewear brand kicks off Fall 2019 season with red carpet event.
Like the smooth green fruit often associated with the healthy California lifestyle, Made-in-L.A. activewear brand Avocado is committed to delivering its customers unique comfort, versatility, wellbeing, and quality.
To prove its point, the high-end athletic/yoga brand confirmed its commitment to Sensil®, the premium nylon 6.6 fabric at the core of its most recent collection, at the exclusive after-hours official Avocado + Sensil Launch Party, “As You Are” held at its flagship store in Venice California on July 26th.
Attendees made their red carpet arrival at the Abbot-Kinney store (whose neighbors include major fashion brands Adidas Originals, James Perse, RYU, Vince and Everlane) dressed in a variety of Avocado garments personalized to their own sense of street style.
Once inside, the VIP guests were given the chance to step into the digital photo booth, visit the eerily accurate tarot card reader, enjoy aromatherapy reiki healings and, most importantly, preview Avocado’s Fall 2019 line of unique designs made of premium Sensil® fabrics.
Avocado’s Fall collection is an inspiring one, ranging from lush legging designs with beautiful woodgrain patterns invoking a leafy forest walk on a early autumn day to bright bold colors and designs that turn up the heat on sensual. The soft and resilient Sensil® fabrics help the garments hold up to the most rigorous workout, and the seamless waistbands never roll, no matter how challenging the pose.
Jessica Laursen, Avocado’s Creative Director, said “We at Avocado are so happy to be partnering with Sensil® and to be able to offer our customers the finest quality performance material on the market. Knitting our products with Sensil® gives us the ability to provide amazingly soft garments with 4-way stretch and superior recovery, breathability and sweat-wicking properties, along with excellent durability. At Avocado, we pride ourselves on offering unique and high-quality lifestyle apparel that is functional for active life, sophisticated for daily styling, and comfortable for relaxing in the afterhours–and that starts with choosing Sensil®.”
The festivities continued on the boutique’s spacious back patio, where the popular LA indie rock band Cannons had everyone dancing the night away to their amazing tunes. Lead singer Michelle Joy looked fabulous in her Avocado bra top and biker shorts, which she paired with a denim jacket, cap and boots. The hors d’oeuvres and specialty cocktails created just for the event delighted the partygoers in an atmosphere that couldn’t have been more perfect as patio lights and colorfully illuminated bar tables shimmered under the setting sun.
Kirsten K. Harris, VP of Marketing for North America for Sensil® brand owner Nilit, said guests were clearly enjoying themselves: “Not only did everyone there look fabulous and festive in their stunning Avocado street-styled ‘As You Are’ looks, but they also seemed to have a blast mingling and dancing to Cannons’ incredible performance.”
Among the guests were a few famous faces, like 22-year-old contortionist Marina Mazepa, the recent America’s Got Talent phenom who is Avocado’s Fall 2019 Avomuse. Also spotted in the crowd were fashion photographer (and former child actor) Michele Laurita, and singer Ranella Ferrer, a past participant on the hit reality TV show Revenge Body by Khloe Kardashian. Sensil® Brand Ambassador Jenna Becia was even invited to put her skills to the test at Khloe’s next session!
At the end of the evening, guests were gifted amazing swag bags filled to the brim with Avocado + Sensil® apparel and accessories and other goodies, including biodegradable straws made from—you guessed it– avocados!
The avocado may be the official fruit of California but, according to Sensil®’s Harris, “Today, Avocado is the official active apparel of Sensil®. We are grateful for the partnership, commitment and collaboration – it has been an incredible journey with an amazing brand and dedicated group of people. We are proud to be a part of these beautiful garments.”
